Ask any person, “why is milk good for you?” and they’ll tell you “it’s good for calcium”. This is a huge myth that has been fuelled by milk lobbyists and the dairy industry, an industry that is worth $70 billion in the U.S. alone. In reality there are a lot of risks associated with dairy consumption. The Harvard nurses health study which followed 85,000 nurses for 12 years found those that consumed animal protein had a higher risk of bone fracture because it has a high sulphur content. A recent Harvard study showed pasteurised milk products from factory farms are linked to causing hormone-dependent cancers because of the dangerously high levels of estrone sulfate, an estrogen compound linked to testicular, prostate, and breast cancers.
So why is milk bad for you? Animal protein is shown to accelerate osteoporosis because of the high level of acid in dairy, this forces the blood to reestablish a proper Ph balance. In order to do this, the body withdraws calcium-phosphate from the bones as a buffer and uses alkaline mineral phosphate to neutralise the acid. Calcium is then excreted through our urine. So it is no big surprise that nations with the highest rate of dairy consumption also have the highest rates of osteoporosis. If you look you will find many scientific studies that show an assortment of detrimental health effects directly linked to milk consumption.
But mainstream health practitioners and established nutrition continue to promote dairy as a rich source of calcium. Which is true, cow’s milk is excellent for calcium nourishment, but each mammal species has their own “designer” milk perfect for their offspring not other mammals. When we drink cow’s milk it creates metabolic disturbances that have detrimental bone health consequences.
Non-dairy sources of calcium are the healthier options! Other ways to keep your bones strong are to reduce sodium intake, eat lots of vegetables, don’t overdo protein, exercise, and get ample amounts of Vitamin D!
A HUGE FUCKING THANK YOU TO WHOEVER MADE THIS.
THE CHINA STUDY please and thank you. This rocks. Meat and dairy turn your body into your own worst enemy.
